Who to ask
Caira is used by clinics and hospitals to talk to their patients on WhatsApp. The clinic decides what is collected; we hold it on their behalf. That means there are two ways to have your information deleted, and the first one is usually faster.
Route 1 — recommended
Ask your clinic
Tell the clinic you booked with that you want your information removed. They control the record, and they can instruct us to delete it. This is the fastest route because they can confirm who you are from their own records.
Route 2
Write to us directly
Email hello@bookwithcaira.com with the subject line Data deletion request. Tell us the WhatsApp number you messaged from and the name of the clinic. We will confirm the request with that clinic, delete the record, and write back to tell you it is done.
We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days. If it will take longer because a clinic has not yet confirmed, we will tell you why.
What gets deleted
- Your WhatsApp number and the name you gave when booking.
- The conversation you had with the clinic through Caira.
- Your appointment records inside Caira.
- Your detected language preference.
What we cannot delete
We want to be straightforward about the limits, because a deletion promise that quietly excludes things is worse than no promise.
- The clinic's own records. If the clinic wrote your appointment into its own register or hospital system, that copy belongs to them and is outside Caira. Ask the clinic about it directly.
- Your WhatsApp chat history. The messages on your own phone are yours, and Meta holds its own copy under its terms. Deleting your Caira record does not erase the chat from WhatsApp.
- Records the law requires us or the clinic to keep. Where Indian law requires a medical or financial record to be retained for a period, it is retained.
If a clinic stops using Caira
When a clinic ends its use of Caira, we delete or return that clinic's data — including patient conversations and appointments — within a reasonable period, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. You do not need to make a request for this to happen.
